“Give freely without expectations, then watch what happens.”
Tami was a competitive gymnast from age 9 - 15 in both club and high school programs. She assisted in coaching her high school team as well as a competitive level team at her gym. Through the later part of high school and college she taught recreational gymnastics at The Children's Gym and at some surrounding competitive gyms in the area.
Tami received her license as a Physical Therapy Assistant in 1984. She practiced for two years in Neurological rehabilitation and eleven years in Orthopedics/ Sports medicine. While working in orthopedics she had the opportunity to work with local high schools and with PSU athletes in both the clinical setting and at the sport site.
Tami has been drawn back to her passion for teaching at The Children's Gym due to her belief in The Children's Gym mission, experience with what the program has done for children, and friendship with the owner. It is very fulfilling to Tami to be a part of the student's developmental years, and she enjoys contributing to their learning which she believes will inspire them for a lifetime.
Her other enjoyments include outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. She enjoys auto racing (Nascar) and most importantly her family. Tami has one daughter who is aspiring to be a Wildlife Biologist and she loves spending time with her husband.
